What are the primary job responsibilities? The Student Services Coordinator is pivotal in ensuring students receive the academic support, advising, and logistical planning they need to navigate high school and prepare for postsecondary success successfully. This role supports the Cougars to College program by coordinating college and career exploration activities, managing student scheduling in PowerSchool, and ensuring student progress aligns with graduation requirements.
Reporting to the School Principal and guided by the College and Career Advisor, the Student Services Coordinator collaborates across departments to ensure student readiness and achievement.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: College & Postsecondary Programming Support Coordinate and supervise college campus visits, including scheduling, transportation, permission forms, and student engagement. Support the delivery of workshops and events related to college applications, financial aid (FAFSA), scholarship opportunities, and career pathways. Build and maintain relationships with college representatives, community partners, and postsecondary institutions. Maintain tracking systems to monitor student participation in postsecondary readiness activities. Student Scheduling & Academic Progress Monitoring Manage student course scheduling in PowerSchool to ensure accuracy, alignment with student goals, and compliance with graduation requirements. Work closely with administrators and teachers to verify student course selections and make necessary adjustments. Review student transcripts regularly to flag issues, support academic planning, and ensure students are on track for graduation based on both CEN + MDE graduation requirements. Serve as a point of contact for resolving scheduling conflicts and answering questions related to course placement. Student Support & Data Coordination Maintain up-to-date records of student scheduling, advising notes, and participation in college readiness activities. Collaborate with the middle school team crafting and revising students' EDPs starting in 7th grade. Assist in collecting and analyzing data to evaluate program effectiveness and student outcomes. Provide individualized support and outreach to students who need help navigating academic and postsecondary systems. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or related field. Experience working with high school-aged youth, preferably in a school or college access setting. Familiarity with student information systems, especially PowerSchool. Strong organizational and communication skills. Commitment to equity, access, and student success. Knowledge of graduation requirements and postsecondary admissions processes.
