The Student Music Librarian/Technician will provide clerical assistance for the Music Program and provide upkeep in the Music Library (librarian duties) and is responsible for setup of audio equipment, maintenance, and general organization of the library, rehearsal, and studio spaces (technician duties).
Reports To: Faculty Coordinator of Music
Job Requirements Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester. OR Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Job Duties The Student Music Librarian/Technician will assist the Music Program Director in the music library, rehearsal and studio spaces. A combination of clerical (filing/copying/scanning/collating etc…) and technical duties is (setting up/breaking down audio equipment, organizing cables, moving microphones/microphone stands, music stands, and other music and audio equipment) to be expected.
Other duties may include:
Abiding by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
Contributing to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhering to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Completing quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participating in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and being prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
Working Conditions: This position performs the essential functions in an indoor classroom or office setting.
Physical Demands: Sedentary work, occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, frequent movement and communication with students, faculty, and staff.
