Purpose Statement:
To work with school personnel in identifying and supporting students delaing with mental/behavioral health obstacles, helping them overcome those obstacles to academic success.
Essential Duties
Works with school personnel, families, and children in developing and implementing intervention strategies to successfully address mental and behavioral obstacles. Works with school personnel in identifying students dealing with mental/behvioral health obstacles. Works with all stakeholders to assist students identified as having mental/behavioral health obstacles. Provides direct mental/behavioral health services to students in grades 6-12. Provides support at Tier 1, Tier 2. and Tier 3 Levels of the MTSS. Provides crisis intervention support when needed. Seeks to foster school-home relationships. Maintains confidentiality of student and family information. Consults with school and agency personnel to mobilize resources to address the specialized needs of students. Exhibits professionalism and professional ethics in all work related activities. Adheres to the dress code described in board of education policy. Meets certification and accreditation standards. Communicates responsibly with all individuals and groups. Adhere to local school procedures and regulations. Promotes a positive school environment that enhances student learning. Works cooperatively with colleagues and the community. Seeks to improve through professional development and evaluation activities. Adheres to attendance and leave policies adopted by the board of education. Submits accurate paperwork on schedule. Acts, when necessary, as the custodian of school system records, including but not limited to system-wide attendance records and shall have the authority to enter, maintain and access attendance records for all students within Gordon County Schools. Follows all county, state and federal policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Contract Terms: 10 month position, 183 days
Salary: Gordon County Schools certified district social worker salary schedule
Minimum Qualifications: Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor
