POSITION PURPOSE This position provides temporary, project-based assistance in the Energy Markets division at headquarters. The incumbent will gain exposure to Cooperative operations and practices while supporting teams with hands-on tasks and assignments appropriate to their field of study. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assist with the checkout process of gas purchase and sales contracts to ensure accurate settlement of transactions. Assist with the settlement of wind purchase power agreements with numerous counterparties such as validating curtailments and providing calculations for the counterparties to confirm. Assist with teh settlement of short-term transmission, energy and capacity transactions. Complete monthly biling. Investigate abnormalities in market activities to determine causes and develop solutions to resolve or improve market activities. Support the development and expansion of data and systems related to market analysis functions. Project assignments and ad-hoc requests for data and analysis to support Energy Markets and reporting processes. Follow safety, security, and procedural guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Be at least 18 years of age. Be enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year Business, Finance, or Accounting program with at least two years completed or recent graduate (within the past 12 months). Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Transcript required at time of application.  If your transcript is not attached at time of application, your application will not be reviewed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous internship or relevant work experience. Additional certifications or coursework in field of study.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and to move about the office building, occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, constant use of keyboard/computer and other office productivity machinery, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds.
