International Affairs | International Students and Scholars The Immigration Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the nonimmigrant needs of international students. This position is part of the International Student and Scholar team within the Office of International Affairs and works collaboratively with campus partners and federal agencies to ensure compliance and student success. As a Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 students and an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for J-1 students, the Immigration Coordinator advises students on maintaining lawful nonimmigrant status. This includes evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting federal regulations, as well as providing guidance on cross-cultural issues and other concerns that may impact academic and personal success. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with SEVIS Check-In, event creation, reporting, and recordkeeping in accordance with federal regulations. Collaborating with academic departments and service units on F-1 and J-1 regulatory matters. Developing and delivering educational programs and workshops (e.g., Curricular Practical Training [CPT], Optional Practical Training [OPT]) to support international students. Serving on committees and contributing to initiatives that enhance the international student experience. Eligibility Requirement: To serve as a Designated School Official (DSO), applicants must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident.
Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor's Level Degree 2 years of relevant experience 1 year experience working with F-1 and J-1 student visas
