The Institutional Support Services (ISS) - SFO Processing Billing Manager, is responsible for the overall billing process, training, evaluation, and support for student success through management and processing of accurate institutional fee assessments, exemptions, and offers (non-TIV financial aid) as well as providing support to our internal customers and students. This role manages day to day billing operations for all Adtalem Global Education institutions, handling student billing issues (non-Title IV), as well as assessing and measuring operational effectiveness. This leader is charged with being a role model for the organization TEACH values and fosters a culture of CARE consistent with organization's mission, vision, and purpose.
Responsibilities Directs and manages the ISS – SFO Processing Billing Team that is responsible and accountable for accurate fee assessments, exemptions, and offers (non-TIV financial aid) for all Adtalem Global Education institutions to include billing, posting, reporting, account management, and student billing inquiries providing leadership to continually improve student experience.
Ensures that the department is appropriately staffed, which includes interviewing candidates, making hiring/promotion decisions, and ensuring all colleagues understand their role and responsibility.
Evaluates and reviews current customer service/operational practices and processes and advises management on recommendations for improvement.
Provides management with tracking, reporting, and assessment of outcomes.
Leads in the development of colleagues, department, and/or functional areas that have an integral role in the overall customer service/operational initiative.
Develops, implements, and monitors schedules that provide effective coverage to ensure quality.
May prepare department staffing and budget plans and maintain adequate staffing while remaining within service level.
Ensures that colleagues have the needed tools and resources to collaborate with various Adtalem Global Education functions, applying knowledge of higher education policies, compliance, and regulations to assist in the resolution of student account concerns.
Identify and shares best practices with the department members to ensure that all staff members continuously provide and improve student experience.
Maintain a thorough understanding of all programs, policies, and procedures (non-Title IV).
Train and guide colleagues on billing operations and procedures.
May assist with designing and presenting any special reports/projects.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required
Master's Degree preferred
4 years of combined professional experience required and
Prior people management experience required and
Experience working in a service-oriented industry
Banner (Ellucian) student information system skills are required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel including Power Query)
Understand and support internal and external customer needs
Exceptional leadership, colleague development, critical thinking, organization, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience communicating with senior leadership required
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions without supervision or direction
Additional InformationIn support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $61,720.78 and $108,334.92. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
