Position Announcement
The e2i program is seeking motivated students with a strong background in programming and data management to support hands-on, interdisciplinary projects. This position provides an opportunity to apply coding knowledge to real-world applications by transforming C++, C#, and Java code into usable files for data analytics and website integrations. Students in this role will gain valuable experience in software development, database management, and applied data engineering.
Summary of Responsibilities
Code Translation & Data Processing: Convert C++, C#, and Java code into structured data files for analytics and web integration.
Database Management: Support the development, organization, and maintenance of project-related databases.
Data Analytics Preparation: Assist in preparing and transforming data for dashboards, reporting, and visualization.
Project Assistance: Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of engineering-focused e2i projects.
Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including students from various fields, to achieve project objectives.
Hands-on Innovation: Engage in hands-on work to explore creative solutions and optimize project functionality.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications Must be a current UVU student.
Preferred Major: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (degree-seeking student preferred)
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Programming Skills: Ability to read and work with C++, C#, and Java. Experience transforming code into data formats for analytics is highly valued.
Database Experience: Familiarity with database systems (SQL, MySQL, or similar) and understanding of data structures.
Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills with a proactive approach to coding and data challenges.
Collaboration: Effective communication and teamwork skills for working across disciplines.
Time Management: Ability to balance multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
