The WELL on the campus of Sac State is seeking to hire three Informal Recreation Attendant's to work at both the Equipment and Retreat Desks to assist with checking out various types of equipment, including basketballs, outdoor volleyball sets, workout equipment, and towels. In addition to checking out equipment, the Informal Recreation Attendants are responsible for racquetball court reservations and setting up different informal recreation activities throughout the day. Informal Recreation Attendants have the additional responsibilities of managing the lost and found, cleaning equipment, policy enforcement and the sale of all WELL merchandise.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check, educational verification (degree, license, or official transcript), or driver clearance. Applicants will be required to pass required pre-employment checks to the satisfaction of University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) and the hiring Agency or Department.
UEI does not allow employees to hold more than one UEI Job at a time, or work in more than one college or center per pay period. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI Student assistant position for a different UEI student assistant position should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week's notice.
Prerequisites
Students working at the University Union or The WELL must be attending classes at Sacramento State during the regular term (Fall, Spring), and enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) semester units for undergraduate students or six (6) semester units for graduate students.

Shifts available Sunday-Saturday. Schedule varies.
Looking to fill availability gaps within the following time frames:
Monday - Friday 5:45am-9:45pm
Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; (winter, spring & summer).
Compensation
$16.50 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
Desire to work in Recreation and as part of a team.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to follow directions.
Preferred Qualifications Point of sale experience.
Customer service experience.
CPR/AED and First Aid Certified.
Duties and Responsibilities Monitor facilities for safety at all times.
Ensure all equipment rental contracts are handled properly.
Respond to injuries and emergencies; activate the emergency action plan.
Attend pre-semester training and all-staff meetings throughout the semester.
Attend all area specific trainings as required.
Foster professional standards among staff, including proper attire.
Address customer service-related questions in a positive manner.
Complete Incident/Accident reports properly.
Enforce policies of The WELL and Campus Recreation during all activities.
Check out equipment.
Maintain inventory of all equipment.
Assist in survey implementation and tabulation where applicable.
Assist in laundering and folding towels.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Facility policy enforcement.
Physical Requirements
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers and scanners with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions
Work is performed either in a gym or office environment or a combination of the two. Continuous contact with staff and patrons. Frequent contact with campus community and the public.
