Job Summary

The Student Assistant will support the Department of Manufacturing Engineering as a Research Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2025.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

Support the project team with equipment setup and troubleshooting as needed Carry out experimental tasks, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings Participate in weekly or bi-weekly team meetings to discuss progress and results Shift Specifics Up to 20 hours per week Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering majors Preferred Experience Highly self-motivated individuals with strong communication skills Hands-on experience with laboratory or experimental equipment setup and operation Familiarity with data collection, analysis, and reporting techniques Experience in writing technical reports or creating presentations for scientific or technical audiences Knowledge of safety protocols and standard operating procedures in an experimental setting

Proposed Salary

$10.00 per hour
