Job Summary
The Student Assistant for the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) Strategic Initiatives and Programs, Dean’s office will support the Director in the development, execution, and evaluation of key projects that advance the strategic goals.
This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in higher education administration, project management, decision-making and community engagement.
The assistant will contribute to high-priority projects by conducting research, engaging the campus and external communities, creating marketing for traditional and social media platforms, scheduling and recording notes for the CLA Council on Strategic Initiatives and Programs, preparing reports, and coordinating events such as the 2026 CLA AI Nexus Conference, podcast productions, lectures, and book talks and signings. Essential Functions
Project support : Assist with the planning, monitoring, and execution of strategic projects, ensuring that key timelines and deliverables are met.
Research and analysis : Conduct primary and secondary research on topics relevant to strategic priorities, gather and analyze data, and summarize findings for reports and presentations.
Creating marketing messaging for traditional and Social Media Platforms and Preparing Reports : Develop messaging and materials, including presentations, reports, and meeting agendas, to communicate project progress and outcomes to the Director and other stakeholders.
Meeting coordination : Schedule meetings, record minutes, and follow up on action items to ensure project continuity.
Communication : Draft and prepare internal communications, correspondence, and other materials for stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students.
Event management : Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of programs, workshops, and other special events related to strategic initiatives.
Administrative tasks : Perform administrative duties as needed, such as scheduling meetings with the CLA Council on Strategic Initiatives and Programs, managing files, organizing records, and responding to general inquiries related to projects.
