The WELL on campus at Sac State is seeking to hire four Sac State students to join the Fitness Team for the position of Fitness Attendant. This position reports directly to the Coordinator, Fitness Operations and Personal Training. Fitness Attendants monitor the safety of the WELL members, fitness areas, and equipment. The student will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the safety of staff and members by enforcing policies, cleaning equipment, and educating members on facility protocols.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check, educational verification (degree, license, or official transcript), or driver clearance. Applicants will be required to pass required pre-employment checks to the satisfaction of University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) and the hiring Agency or Department.
UEI does not allow employees to hold more than one UEI Job at a time, or work in more than one college or center per pay period. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI Student assistant position for a different UEI student assistant position should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week's notice.
Prerequisites
Students working at the University Union or The WELL must be attending classes at Sacramento State during the regular term (Fall, Spring), and enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) semester units for undergraduate students or six (6) semester units for graduate students.

Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; (winter, spring & summer).
Compensation
$16.50 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to multi-task, take direction and work in a team. Desire to work in recreation and as part of a team. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to follow direction. CPR/AED and First Aid Certified (Or able to get a certification within 60 days of hire). Duties and Responsibilities Monitor activities for safety at all times. Clean equipment using proper procedures. Collect participation data for classes and facility usage. Respond to injuries and emergencies; activate the emergency action plan. Communicate effectively with staff, co-workers, and members. Effectively utilize software for scheduling and communication with supervisors and co-workers. Effectively accomplish tasks in a timely manner. Adhere to The WELL employment policies including uniform policy and customer service guidelines. Attend pre-semester training and all-staff meetings throughout the semester. Foster professional standards among staff. Answer customer service-related questions in a positive manner. Complete Incident/Accident reports properly. Enforce policies of The WELL and Campus Recreation. Assist in the set-up and breakdown of Group Fitness classes. Complete other duties as assigned by the Graduate Assistants or Professional Staff.
Physical Requirements
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers and scanners with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions
Work is performed either in a gym or office environment or a combination of the two. Continuous contact with staff and patrons. Frequent contact with campus community and the public.
