Purpose
The Co-op Program Coordinator is responsible for the management of the Cooperative Engineering Education Program which includes course facilitation, grading, student tracking, employer relations, marketing, and more. Additionally, this position will serve as a career advisor for the Engineering Career Assistance Center, delivering first-rate career services for Cockrell School of Engineering students and alumni
Responsibilities
Manage the enrollment, assignment of coursework, and grading for three co-op cohorts at any given time
Promote co-op program and opportunities to students via digital/paper media and information sessions
Recruit employer partners to offer co-op positions and grow the size of the program
Collaborate with multiple campus partners, staff, and faculty to ensure seamless transition of students from school to work and vice versa
Conduct individual advising sessions to help students/alumni make informed career decisions and to aid in preparation of job application materials
Deliver career workshops and topical outreach presentations to general and targeted student populations
Facilitate a First-Year or Transfer-Year Interest group with the aid of a student mentor by sharing school resources and ease students to campus life
Assist with logistical and administrative details for career fairs, office-related events, and departmental events
Produce marketing, promotional materials, and social media content for owned programs
Coordinate additional programs which may include supervising student staff, tracking graduate accommodation via first destination reports, etc.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and five years of experience coordinating student programs.
Demonstrated ability to work with and support students.
High energy, team player with strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with all levels of constituents: students, employers, faculty and other staff members. Demonstrated professional demeanor.
Proven ability to take ownership of programs and innovate new ideas for continuous improvement.
Able to work independently and in teams with overlapping projects.
Solid proficiency with standard applications in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Suite.
Quick learner of online and technology tools such as online databases, platforms, and applications.
Familiarity with video and web conferencing software such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Strong attention to detail.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree and three years or more years of experience coordinating student programs.
Able to work in a multi-faceted environment with tightly scheduled programs and deadlines.
Appreciation for and knowledge of engineering/STEM education and knowledge of The University of Texas at Austin and the Cockrell School of Engineering.
Knowledge of UT Austin undergraduate student processes and relevant administrative systems.
Experience coordinating program with academic or experiential components.
Experience in career services.
Salary Range
$53,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
Work outside of normal business hours may be required on a periodic basis during peak periods or for special events.
Work Shift
Standard work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
