The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) encourages applications for the Senior Coordinator of Student Engagement! This area is charged with creating a vibrant and engaging campus experience for all students. Reporting to the Assistant Director, this position supports the regular operations for student centered programming. Additionally, this position will supervise the department social media team, serve as a lead for departmental assessment, advise 1-2 student boards supported and/or advised by the Center for Student Involvement, and supervise student employees and up to two full-time employees.

The Division of Student Life consists of 30 departments that provide student support and services dedicated to helping students become successful, curious, competent individuals during their time at CU Boulder. The work in Student Life supports all factors of the student experience, no matter what department a staff member may work in. This includes where students live, eat, make friends, build professional skills and find help if they need it. Many departments provide involvement opportunities, educational resources and support services to help students find their community and build lifelong skills. Center for Student Involvement CSI helps students build vibrant, engaging and safe communities on campus. This student-fee funded unit is a collaborative team providing dynamic opportunities and resources for students to get involved on campus through programming, student organization support and student employment. CSI oversees the over 500 recognized student organizations on campus and assists students in creating new organizations that match their interests. Annually, CSI puts on over 200 campus events to help students connect, explore their interests and have fun. Students can also participate in various programs within CSI to develop leadership skills, gain professional experience, enhance cultural awareness and more. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Student Engagement & Programming: Lead Student Engagement functions for the Center for Student Involvement including the CSI staff event planner experience, event planning process, trainings, and guides/resources.
Directly responsible for 2-4 regular programming series and supervises up to two professional staff member that each also handles 3-5 regular programming series.
Develop and assess student learning and program outcomes for all student engagement/programming initiatives. Use data to advise and improve program offerings.
Work with campus partners that support and work with student engagement and programming initiatives.
Create and implement social media plans for the programming initiatives in collaboration with Student Life Communications.
Manage inventory and storage spaces for the student engagement area within CSI.
Student Board Advising: Serve as the advisor for 1-2 student boards directly supported and/or advised by the Center for Student Involvement. Advises the board(s) on logistics of large scale events and oversees transitions of student leadership through orientation and training. Assists the board(s) in operations, budgeting, and annual budget requests from student government or other funding sources.
Develop resources for skill development of our student board advisors, student board chairs, and other student leaders from programming boards.
Serve as the primary advisor for Program Council, including direct and indirect supervision of 30-50 Program Council student employees. Advises Program Council on logistics of large scale events and oversees transitions between student leadership through orientation and training. Assists the board(s) in operations, budgeting, and annual budget requests from student government or other funding sources.
Supervise up to two professional staff member that also serve as the advisor for 1-2 student boards directly supported and/or advised by the Center for Student Involvement.
Student Organizations: Act as a liaison to the University for Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs). Serves as a resource to student organizations by supporting RSOs in event planning, risk management, and budgetary advising. Assists in RSO training efforts throughout the year and supervise up to two professional staff member that also serves as student organization liaisons.
Human Resource Management: Supervise up to 2 FTE, 8-12 student employees, and a number of student leaders in volunteer positions.
Assist with processes to recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff.
Supervise staff and in consultation with employee, set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that contribute to the department’s goals and vision.
Ensure that all federal, state, university, and departmental hiring procedures are followed.
Planning Strategies, Leadership, and Assessment: Provide vision and strategic direction for Student Engagement area, specifically weekly programming, traditions programming, and large scale events.
Create and implement program assessments and develop learning outcomes for the Student Engagement area and Center for Student Involvement/Divisional programming initiatives.
Divisional and External Responsibilities: Represent the Center for Student Involvement on various Division of Student Lifeand campus committees and working groups as assigned.
Financial Oversight: Provide oversight of an annual budget of approximately $1,000,000+ in funds for student events and programs.
Assist in the annual budget process within a cost center of CU Student Government.
Maintain accurate budget expenditure records and plans for future contingency funds.
Administer all fiscal processes with maximum integrity and timeliness.
Follow all federal, state, university, and departmental budget procedures.
What You Should Know
This is a manager level position that interacts with all levels of staff. This is a position that is expected to work regular business hours, with regular evenings and late-night hours, as well as work occasional weekends hours. The role is primarily onsite.
What We Can Offer
The salary range for this position is $57,500 - $59,800 per year.

A bachelor's degree in social sciences or related field from an accredited college or university
Three years of experience directly related to position duties and job description.
Demonstrated experience with weekly events, evening and late-night programs, student programming boards, and/or large-scale events.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

What We Would Like You to Have
A master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field.
Two-plus years of fulltime experience overseeing weekly events, evening and late-night programs, student programming boards, and/or large-scale events in a higher education setting.
Two-plus years of fulltime experience advising or working directly with students, student organizations or student programming boards/knowledge of student development theories and a strong commitment to diversity and community building.
Solid understanding in program assessment and developing learning outcomes.
Working knowledge of student development theory.
Experience developing learning outcomes and proven experience in program assessment.
Event planning experience in a higher education setting.
Demonstrated ability to work optimally with individuals and groups from a variety of backgrounds.
Supervisory experience, including formal coaching and evaluation, of either student employees or professional staff members.
