Organization: Techies Robotics (Non-profit STEM Education Program) Location: South Charlotte / Ballantyne Position: Part-Time Robotics Teaching Assistant Schedule: Weekends Expected Start/End Date: January – March 2026 Hours: 3–5 hours/week Pay: Unpaid Internship About Us Techies Robotics is a nonprofit that inspires and prepares future STEM leaders through hands-on robotics, coding, and competition-based learning. We empower students with real-world engineering skills, teamwork, and leadership guided by dedicated mentors. Position Summary We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals who enjoy working with learners and supporting STEM education. Ideal candidates have experience with robotics or programming and are interested in developing teaching, leadership, and technical skills in a real classroom setting. This role is well-suited for individuals seeking experience in robotics, engineering, computer science, education, or youth development. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Development & Preparation Assist in developing and refining curriculum materials Test hands-on activities, robot builds, and coding challenges Develop code examples and practice exercises Classroom Instruction Support the lead instructor during lessons and activities Troubleshoot student robot builds and programming issues Assist with classroom setup, materials preparation, cleanup, and logistics Qualifications Ability to pass a background check (required for all student-facing roles) Experience with robotics or programming (LEGO SPIKE Prime, Scratch, Python, or similar) Strong communication skills and comfort working with youth Positive attitude, patience, and professionalism Interest in STEM education and/or mentoring Experience with robotics competitions is a plus Work Schedule & Hours Part-time weekend schedule Approximately 3–5 hours per week, depending on class needs Why Join Us This role offers hands-on experience in teaching, robotics, and coding while strengthening leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
