Description
UVA Imaging is currently looking for a curent radiology program student to help with imaging exams at our Ivy Ortho location. This is a PRN position and upon completion of the ARRT registry you could transition into a Full Time Technologist. We are willing to work with your current school schedule.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director and/or the Technologist, the Technologist Assistant:
Is responsible for supporting the radiology staff and providing the first clinical point of contact for patients. Facilitates the patient flow to minimize patient wait times and maximize the utilization of resources. Demonstrates competence with all imaging safety compliance initiatives. Serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Identifies patients and provides assistance with the completion of pre-procedure forms. Provides optimal patient care by explaining procedure to patient and answering questions. Follows established Safety Standards to ensure safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Collaborates with referring clinics to facilitate patient care. Assists staff with supply inventory needs and keeps rooms stocked as appropriate. Participates in ongoing customer service and process improvement efforts. Participates in performance improvement activities. Demonstrates consistent use of AIDET (Acknowledge patient, Introduce yourself, provide Duration/timeline for test, Explain the test, & Thank them for choosing our center) and HEAL ( Hear them out, Empathize, Apologize, & Leap into action to solve) when interacting with patients/customers. Takes the initiative to help other modalities/areas of the Imaging Center as assigned or when work load/area allows. Attends/participates in staff meetings, in-services, and center-wide meetings as scheduled. Performs all other duties as assigned. Requirements
EXPERIENCE: Currently enrolled in a radiologic technology program. EDUCATION: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
