Program Manager, Student Support Services

Program Manager, Student Support Services Provides leadership and direction for the Student Support Services Program. Essential functions include:
Coordinates, monitors, and evaluates services including academic, career, financial aid, and personal advising
Develops bridge classes, cultural, career, and transfer activities
Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates staff
Guarantees the fulfillment of objectives and activities of the grant funded program
Develops and manages the budget
Conducts ongoing and final assessment of program activities
Ensures program compliance with College policies and procedures and U.S. Department of Education regulations
Develops and writes proposals and reports
Maintains relationships with other College departments including campus student success teams
Participates in meetings, workshops, and conferences for professional development
Performs other duties as assigned
Required qualifications include:
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology or a related field
Minimum of three years of demonstrated administrative experience implementing and evaluating educational programs
Demonstrated experience in proposal writing for government funded programs
Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others
Demonstrated experience planning, preparing, and monitoring a business area's budget
Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department
Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations
Knowledge, skills and abilities include:
Possess working knowledge of postsecondary admissions concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
Possess excellent organizational and prioritization skills with demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to be creative and exercise initiative
Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to adjust to changing priorities and respond appropriately to deadlines
Possess leadership skills and ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively
Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently
Demonstrated intermediate Project Management skills
Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity
Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects
Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects
Ability to facilitate top-level collaboration while managing sensitive issues
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community

Preferred qualifications include:
Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience counseling and/or teaching first generation students
Demonstrated experience working with Banner Student and Financial Systems
Active licensure in a professional field such as Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
Possess knowledge of policies and procedures of the U.S. Department of Education regulations governing TRIO programs
Physical demands/working conditions include:
The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment
The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated
The employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and may perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there will be walking; standing; bending; stooping; and carrying of various items and equipment
Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
Non-Bargaining Full-time Position Target Starting Salary Range: $60,000 to $65,000. The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).
If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College.
