Position Overview Pine Island School District seeks a caring and committed paraeducator to join our 5-12 team. This role focuses on supporting students with disabilities as they grow in confidence and independence.You will work with students in both general and special education classrooms, build strong relationships, and help them meet their goals. You will guide positive behavior, encourage effort, and adapt to each day's needs. Pine Island paraeducators bring energy, patience, and a belief that every student can succeed. Key Responsibilities Student Support: Assist students with disabilities in special education and general education settings by supporting IEP goals. Behavior Support: Support students in adopting positive behaviors by implementing strategies as directed by the special education teacher and behavior interventionist. General Education Support: Support students in understanding and completing learning tasks effectively. Collaboration: Work closely with staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of support provided and time spent with students with disabilities. Provide regular updates to the special education teacher. Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and student support. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and willingness to learn.
