Report to: Assistant to the Director Hours: 10-16 hours/week Period of Agreement: Fall Quarter
Job Summary: The OSI Student Assistant will work primarily in a design/creative capacity, creating promotional materials for
events and activities through Eagle Connect, and managing Eagle Communication submissions. In addition they will have the
responsibility of executing various office projects, clerical duties, providing customer service, and assisting the Office of Student
Involvement with campus wide events, such as Welcome Back Bash, HUB Fair, etc.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Conceive and carry out design concepts for promotional materials for OSI events and activities.
Understand and assist in all three areas of OSI Eagle Communications Management of Eagle Communication submissions ex. Eagle TV, Eagle Cry, Eagle Stamp, etc.
Student Activities, i.e. assist with the coordination of events hosted by OSI Welcome Back Bash, H.U.B. Fair, Christmas Tree Lighting, etc.
Student Organizations ex. communications with student organization leaders
Provide great customer service to students, faculty, staff, and community members who visit and contact the Office of Student Involvement
Perform routine office tasks such as: answer phones and take efficient messages.
help ensure the office is clean and organized
complete miscellaneous duties as assigned by Director and Administrative Assistant

Education: High school diploma or GED, must be a current La Sierra University student
Required Skills: Ability to work well with people of all backgrounds, races, religions, and genders; ability to focus
on details and think creatively; strong clerical skills (filing and typing); computer skills (Mac,
Microsoft Word, EagleConnect, Excel); efficient and effective verbal and nonverbal skills; must be
reliable, accurate, flexible, and work well both independently and as a team player.
Preferred Experience: Ability to work well with people of all backgrounds, races, religions, and genders; ability to focus
on details and think creatively; strong clerical skills (filing and typing); computer skills (Mac,
Microsoft Word, EagleConnect, Excel); efficient and effective verbal and nonverbal skills; must be
reliable, accurate, flexible, and work well both independently and as a team player.
Physical/Mental Demands: Office environment can be stressful at times due to the number and diversity of student needs
during large campus events especially. Physical labor is required at certain times; please speak to
the Director if you have any concerns regarding this.
