Location: Tulsa, OK (initial work period) + Fulda/Schlchtern, Germany (international placement)
Program Summary MIRATECH is excited to partner with the University of Tulsa (TU) to offer a dynamic International Internship Program designed to provide qualified TU students with international exposure, cross-cultural learning, and hands-on experience in engineering. This program is a unique opportunity for students to study and gain real-world experience in Germany while working on innovative environmental and emission control technologies with MIRATECH.
Who Should Apply This internship is open only to students currently enrolled at the University of Tulsa who meet the following eligibility requirements:
Enrolled in TU's International Engineering and Language Program
Pursuing a STEM-related degree
Demonstrating progress toward German language proficiency
Program Timeline & Structure This is a two-semester international program designed to align with both U.S. and German academic calendars:
First Semester : Study abroad at the University of Siegen or another TU-approved exchange partner in Germany
Second Semester : Internship opportunity with MIRATECH in Germany
To be eligible for the Germany internship, students must first complete an initial internship period in MIRATECH's Tulsa office.
Key Dates:
German Semester Periods:
Winter: October 1 - March 31
Summer: April 1 - September 30
Internship Start in Germany: Must be preceded by at least one month of in-person work in Tulsa
Key Responsibilities Collaborate with international engineering teams on projects involving emissions control systems
Contribute to product development, testing, or process improvement initiatives
Participate in cross-cultural meetings and engineering reviews
Support engineering documentation, data analysis, and hands-on technical tasks
Represent TU and MIRATECH professionally abroad
Preferred Qualifications Ability to travel and reside internationally for an extended period
Willingness to learn and adapt in multicultural environments
Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation
Completion of at least one in-person interview in Tulsa prior to selection
Additional Program Details & Support Housing in Germany: Not provided, but MIRATECH can connect students with trusted housing contacts in the Fulda/Schlchtern region
Visa Support: MIRATECH provides documentation but does not cover legal/visa fees
Compensation: Interns will receive monthly compensation in euros, in accordance with German apprenticeship guidelines
Residence Permits: MIRATECH can assist with immigration procedures upon request
