Responsibilities • Leads the process for the district’s student program; plans and organizes college recruiting activities, including orientations, events, networking with colleges and universities, managing databases, and coordinating interviews. • Provides support to HRPD team in recruiting and on boarding practices (entry-to mid-level positions). • Provides administrative support to HRPD programs and policy administration as first point of contact. • Participates in district HRPD strategic planning process. Provides support on district-level projects/initiatives as assigned. • Administers payment for HR budget-related items. • Assists with research and general administrative support pertaining to total rewards. • Provides administrative support for career management process and systems. • Provides administrative support for terminations. • Maintains and prepares scheduled and ad hoc reporting as needed. • Provides support to employees and HRPD team on HRIS system and company communications. • Assists with coordination and administration of training and facilitation plans/ programs. • Provides implementation support to district HRPD manager on corporate and regional initiatives. • Participates in regional/national initiatives. • Values and models the solution provider and profitability culture. • Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders. • Other duties as required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related discipline preferred. • Working towards an HR designation preferred. • Some co-op/internship or relevant experience preferred. • Basic understanding of HRPD-related principles, practices, procedures and employment legislation. • Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information
Ability to research and analyze information. • Understanding of business acumen. • Able to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization. • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines. • Basic understanding of training and facilitation coordination. • Basic networking skills with the ability to develop and maintain HR networks. • Results-oriented and able to meet deadlines. • Knowledge of change management methodologies an asset. • Demonstrated critical-thinking skills. • Ability to recognize employee relations issues that need coaching. • Basic skills using Microsoft Office Suite
