TITLE: Worker - Up to 4.5 hours/day
DEPARTMENT: Food & Nutrition Services
PAY GRADE 1: $14.00 hourly
SCHEDULE: up to 180 days
REPORTS TO: Food & Nutrition Services Site Manager
Some positions are 4.5 hours/day; 4 days a week.
Sone positions are 2 hours/day; 5 days a week.
SUMMARY: Performs routine food service activities related to the setting up of serving areas and preparing of food to be served to students and staff; maintains cleanliness of the food service facilities.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Washing Whole Fruit Able to lift a box weighing up to 30 pounds
Filling a large sink from faucet
Removing stickers from fruit
Placing fruit in sink
Wiping individual pieces of fruit
Placing clean fruit in appropriate serving container
Counting number of fruit and reporting this count to manager
Portioning Canned Fruit Open cans with industrial can opener
Portion fruit consistently into designated containers with the appropriate serving size & number directed to portion by manager
Wash out empty cans
Place empty cans in appropriate recycling can
Fill Merchandisers Fill and organize merchandisers (we can create a planogram if needed)
Practice FIFO (first in, first out) to rotate product appropriately
Check for out of date product and remove
Merchandisers contain many items such as milk, water, other beverages and daily cold entrees
Production Tasks-Example Rolling enchiladas
Portioning filling
Rolling tortilla with filling
Placing in pan correctly
Placing the correct number in pan based on recipe
Cleaning Cleaning work area appropriately-sanitizing area-cleaning equipment used
Using the industrial dish machine-loading dish racks-putting away completed dishes in appropriate areas
Sweeping work area
Professional Appearance Wearing a hat or hairnet
Clean uniform
Appropriate shoes
Handwashing
Other tasks based on skill level assessment TBD

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
