Department Specific Responsibilities
Provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and direction to the Office of Admissions and the Office of International Student Services.
Plans, directs, manages, and coordinates all office activities.
Reviews, develops, and implements policies, procedures, and technology solutions to ensure the timely, accurate, efficient, and innovative delivery of admissions and international student services.
Develops and implements innovative approaches to accomplish initiatives and reach goals.
Assures a high level of collaboration and communication with feeder schools and colleges, prospective students and families, as well as community, campus, and university stakeholders.
Develops, administers, coordinates, and evaluates, all domestic undergraduate, as well as all international undergraduate and graduate admission activities in collaboration with stakeholders.
Researches and analyzes student population trends and market share to keep stakeholders informed.
Develops admissions enrollment goals.
Develops and implement recruitment strategies to meet the objectives.
Develops, implements, and evaluates multifaceted recruitment activities to promote and facilitate student admission and enrollment.
Supervises and conducts the analysis of qualifications for prospective domestic and international undergraduate students, and international graduate students, utilizing established university standards, criteria, and guidelines.
Recommends revisions to admissions policy and practice, and update the relevant committees accordingly.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of best practices and current issues related to student recruitment, admissions, support, and retention.
Manages admissions systems and platforms, and collaborate across departments and feeder schools to support enrollment goals and student success.
Coordinates, maintains, and manages undergraduate, graduate, and international admissions application and processing systems with up-to-date information.
Assures the accuracy and integrity of all admissions decisions and student records.
Facilitates criminal and disciplinary background review.
Oversees international student immigration advisement and governmental reporting duties through the SEVIS or related systems.
Processes immigration documentation and monitor regulatory compliance.
Oversees targeted programming and support services that foster student integration, well-being, and retention.
Develops a thorough understanding of immigration policy and institutional practices in advising and governmental reporting.
Acts as a designated school official in SEVIS. Maintain institutional compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations and policies governing immigration status and derived benefits.
Collaborates with the Office of Communication and Marketing to develop, coordinate, and distribute promotional and educational materials attracting and informing prospective students, parents, and other stakeholders.
Collaborates closely with stakeholders, including the campus strategic enrollment management team, student services, academic units, and communication and marketing.
Collaborates closely with the university-wide enrollment services and the Office of International Services.
Trains and updates academic program directors on admissions processing and monitor the online presence to ensure that published documents are up to date.
Supervises admissions staff and set office goals, policies, and procedures.
Manages operations, personnel, and budget.
Provides oversight for the planning, directing, coordinating, and supervision of all activities.
Recruits, hires, trains, monitors, and supervises staff and students involved in admissions and recruitment.
Other duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities
Provides the highest level of operational leadership and coordination of assigned staff members to define admissions and recruitment methodologies and standards; provides direction and guidance on high-priority admissions and recruitment projects/initiatives.
Establishes short-term business plans and long-term operational objectives, including managing project timelines/deliverables and developing resource plans for multi-project/multi-phase admissions and recruitment initiatives.
Conducts a variety of personnel actions, including, but not limited to, hiring, promotion, performance management, and dismissal.
Manages high-level assignments and allocation of admissions and recruitment resources, including negotiating and coordinating initiatives that involve staff in other departments/areas/teams; may coordinate large-scale admissions and recruitment projects with a broad audience in support of academic initiatives.
Makes budgetary recommendations/proposals based on resource needs and ensures cost containment.
Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry admissions and recruitment standards, technologies, policies, and procedures; responsible for the implementation of new protocols/procedures to address business needs.
Works collaboratively with other admissions and recruitment leaders across departments in recommending standards, best practices, and related policies/procedures.
Prepares management reports and summaries for senior administration, executive, steering and advisory committees; acts as advisor to executive committees; serves on various university committees, communities of practice, and task forces related to admissions and recruitment.

EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, or related field
Preferred
Master's degree in business administration, higher education administration, educational leadership, public administration, public policy, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
4 years in admissions, enrollment management, higher education student affairs, business, or related field
1 year of management experience in a relevant field
Preferred
5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in admissions
2 years of management (including supervisory) experience in a relevant field
Proficiency with admissions platforms (Slate and Common App or similar)
Experience with international student services and international student advising

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
